About
Capitol Chamber Players was founded in 1987 by Maquette Kuper, flute; Rejean Anderson, cello; Rona Commins, soprano; and Dorothy McKibben, harpsichord. The initial concert series was performed in the downtown Sacramento Djurovich Art Gallery. Since then, the group has expanded and has performed in the greater Sacramento area as well as the Bay Area. The group has invited local and internationally acclaimed artists to perform with it, creating varied and high-caliber music series.
A non-profit organization, Capitol Chamber Players has contributed to the development of music programs for the youth of Sacramento. Its fundraising efforts benefit the Sacramento Youth Symphony’s Chamber Music Workshop and the music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon’s Music Outreach Project at California State University, Sacramento.
